41st Infantry (Company B) recruiting in KY??
My relative, Wm. H. Becker, joined up with the Illinois 41st Infantry, Company B, as a drummer in 1862. According to the pension file, he signed up in Kentucky, just over the Ohio state border (he lived in Ohio at the time). I can't figure out what the Illinois regiment is doing recruiting in Kentucky at the time; does anyone have a better regimental history than the one I can find online? From another post on this board, it seems like they must have had some losses in Kentucky in 1861.
