Surnames: Samuels, Fruin
I finally recently found my grandfather's father's name. My father's father died when he was very young and then my father died when I was very young and then his mother died a few years later so alot of history went with it. I know that my great grandfather's name was Jerry A Samuels and he was a Civil War Veteran married to a Bessie Fruin. They think he was from around Rock Island,IL which is not far from where I live now. What is the best thing to do now? Any suggestions....I am new to this....my cousin has done most of the work that I have but she prefers to research my grandmother's side of the family so she isnt going to do much with the Samuels side.
