I am seeking information for publication of a regimental history on the 2nd Mississippi Infantry Regiment (Falkner's-Stone's). The unit was recruited from the original
four counties of northeast Mississippi which now include all or portions of Tishomingo, Itawamba, Pontotoc, Tippah (the original counties) and Benton, Alcorn,
Prentiss, Lee and Union (new counties). I am primarily interested in letters, diaries, and period photographs of members of the regiment. I already have the
microfilmed service records for members of the regiment, so do not need information along those lines. I would be happy to reimburse for reasonable copying and
mailing costs for such items. Providers of such information will be acknowledged if used as a part of the final regimental history.
