Classification: Query
Surnames: NUNNELEE, NUNNELLEE
Thanks to several thoughtful and kind researchers I now have proof that Walter H. NUNNELEE / NUNNELLEE did indeed serve the Confederacy in Co D, 20th MS Infantry as did William H. NUNNELEE.
As N-u-n-n-e-l-e-e is such a rare spelling it is quite possible that Walter and William are related and I will try to find out if this is so.
I will update this message when I have received Walter and his wife Amanda's pension applications.

W. H. Nunnellee applied for a Confederate pension from Bradley County in 1908, citing his service in Co. D, 20th Mississippi Infantry. His application was approved on August 6, 1908. Amanda NUNNELLEE also applied for a Confederate pension from Bradley County in 1912, stating that her husband had died on August 10, 1911. Her application was approved on August 8, 1912. The pension record file number is 4039.
Desmond Walls Allen's "Index to Arkansas Confederate
Pension Applications" and found the following (p. 223):
"Nunnellee, W.H.; widow: Amanda; Co. D, 20
Miss. --; he applied: 1908, she applied: 1912, Bradley Co.; he died 11/10/1911."
