1st Ore infantry, Civil War
My Great-grandfather, William Jasper Johnson received a promotion to Sergeant as an outcome of the battle at Harney Lake Oregon on 23 Sept 1865. I would like to obtain as much information as possible regarding That battle, and also any information about the 1st Oregon Volunteer Infantry. I think he was in company A. He died in 1921 and is buried at Ashland Or. Thanks. Betty Kiehn
