Jim, thanks for the offer and I graciously accept any information. I agree the 1860 census with Thomas as head of the household and the J. is probably John. I could not find them in the 1850 census. We are trying to match John up with who we think is his father, Thomas, after 1860. The Thomas was re-married by mid 1860 and according to his letter of intent for citizenship migrated by 1842.
I have found in the pension records that any nugget of information is pure gold. Thank you again.
