Surnames: Jackson, Shealey
My gg grandfather's obituary states that he "served with distinction in the Civil War" but I have no other information about his service. He and his wife, Elizabeth Shealey Jackson, appear in the 1860 census in Aiken, SC as in later census records. He was born in 1837 and died in 1907.
I have found that there are "tons" of James Jacksons who served in the Civil War so the problem has been a big one for me. If anyone has any info that might relate to him, I would appreciate it immensely.
