My G-Grandfahter was James Cornelius Hope of Pomaria, SC. He was a member of Company G of White's battalion, light artillery, Capt. W. L. DePass' battery during the Confederate war. The Hope name would have been extinct in his home area if he had died. After returning home he joined the James. D. Nance camp, No. 336, in Newberry. Does anyone have any information about this organization?
