Would appreciate references to best book or to a Civil War historian with the service history of the 16th Cavalry Regiment (also 24th and 25th Cavalry Regiment, and 8th Infantry Regiment), and anyone with family histories which might have a first person account of the Battle of Pleasant Hill. My two great-uncles (above), and possibly my great grandfather Orpheus Augustus Ross, were at that battle. My great uncle, Erastus B., died at that battle.
