If you haven't found out. Passing here tonight I did some more research and found that John b. Stokes died in the Mooresville, MS hospital on July 14, 1862. This came from his service record that I found at Footnote.com. It also indicated that the 6th was at Des Arc, Arkansas. The heat,bad water contributed to disentary, pneumonia, typhoid. The guys were also getting measels and mumps. It may be possible to check Mooresville to se if he is buried there. may be in a common or mass grave. Hope this helps.
