Hello,
I am very close to completing the research for the book on Tennessee's Civil War flags for the state museum.
What I am still missing are some good accounts of TN Union color bearers as well as the locations of a number of their unit flags. Most of the TN Union flags are missing to this day and I have not been able to locate many accounts about them other than the general order from state Adj. Gen. James Brownlow to turn them into the state. However, when the former Confederates regained political control of the state after Reconstruction, who knows what happened to the flags!
If you have an ancestor who was a color bearer for either a Confederate or Union TN regiment I would love to know about him for the book. If you have pictures that would be great too!
