Hello, I am trying to find information on my GGGrandfather, John W. Cox, b. 1828.
On the 1860 AR. Census, Polaski Co., he is listed with his wife, Almarinda, and 4 sons.
Josephus, b. 1858, AR., is my GGrandfather. At the age of 19, Josephus joined the Indian Wars - 1876. I have his 140 page Pension Papers.
They state that his father, John W. Cox, was killed early in the Civil War, just outside of Little Rock, AR.
I am trying to find record of John W. Cox, battle he was fighting in, and when/where he was killed.
After, John W. was killed, Almarinda and 5 boys returned to Georgia. Another son was born Dec. 1862, so I know he was alive that year.
Is there any way you can please help me? Thanks, Janet
