I am searching for info on the unit that my ggrandfather, George R. OATES of Grady County served in. His obituary states he was a veteran of the Civil War, but I don't know which unit in GA. He was living in Grady Co. at the time.

I am also searching for info on my gggrandfather, Joseph Warren BROWN who served in a GA troup during the Civil War. He was b. 7/15/1828 and d. 11/20/1901. I know he moved to Henry Co., AL after the war, but I don't know which unit he was a member of in GA or where he lived at the time in GA. Any help would be appreciated on either of these. Thanks!
