Surnames: Kelley (Keller)
My g.g.grandfather was George Washington Kelley and was a private in the 11th Ohio Infantry. I also have seen/heard that he was also in the 17th Indiana Infantry under the name George W. Keller. I was wondering how common this was or if anyone had any information on him. Would his military record from the National Archives possbily have information on his Indiana service under Kelley or would I have to request both records (Kelley and Keller)? Hope someone can help. Thanks
