Classification: Query
Surnames: Henricks, Hendricks
My ancestor, John Henricks (Hendricks) was living in Shelby County in 1860. He is listed with his wife Sarah and children in the 1860 Shelby County census. In 1870, John is no longer listed and Sarah is a widow. I have not been able to find any cemetery information or obituary for John in Shelby County so I believe he died elsewhere.
I have found a Civil War record online for a John T. Henricks, 40th Regiment, Company F. I don't know if this is my ancestor but would like to know more.
If anyone can help me - by ruling out his death in the war, or proving that he did die in the war, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
