I am trying to locate Frederic Perles, enlisted as Parlos, in the 1860 Federal Census. He enlised in the 10th U S Infantry in April of 1860 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Where would he have been sent for training prior to being sent to New Mexico, and how long was the training period at that time? He was a bugler.
