Charles Atteberry from Vona, Kit Carson County, Colorado served in WW1. supposedly died in France of pneumonia. Is there a list of Colorado servicemen somewhere that would give date of death and where buried? Or when he might have enlisted? Also, his brother Kenneth Eugene Atteberry is listed on civilian draft register, Kit Carson County, WW1, but I don't know if he actually served. Thanks for any help.

I am currently looking for information on the Second Colorado Cavalry Volunteer Regiment that my grgrgrandfather was in during the Civil War. His name was William H. Mathews and he enlisted in George's Gulch and stayed with the unit during the rest of the war. For one thing where is George's Gulch and any other information would be appreciated. Thanks

Finding service records

Does anyone know how to go about obtaining service records if we're not sure the person did serve in the military? I've been lead to believe that my great-grandfather may have joined "the service" sometime in 1910-1912, but I have no idea what branch of the service this may have been or if he really did. Is there a way to find this out???

cost of uncertified death certs
or do you have to write to state capital....
address of health dept in county cannon city is in, if you can get death certs there (im in OH and we can get them in each county health dept)
address of odd fellows home in cannon city, colo 81212 (if still there) would they have any kind of records

Bennett was supposedly to have come to Colorado, to Fort Lyon[s], to shoe horses for the army, as he was a blacksmith in the late 1880's. I'm trying to find the info for the 1st wife of Closen (Clothen) no middle name
STEWART. He married Lorraine M Stewart on June 1, 1944 in Pueblo, Colorado. They
lived in Lunenburg County VA for about one year before divorcing on Feb 7, 1949.
Lorraine was a non-resident of Lunenburg so she was probably from Colorado.
What i'm looking for is :
I was told that there were possible children from this union and I would like

William ROBSON was in the US Navy and he married Miss Lawanda PARKER abt 1941 -1942 perhaps in Wichita Falls, Texas. Their residence was 1706 Elizabeth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas in 1942 in the City directory. But after 1942 Mrs. William (Lawanda P.) ROBSON is living alone. I think William ROBSON was killed in WWII about 1943. I think maybe the following is him -found in the social security death index: WILLIAM ROBSON ss# 523-10-4305 b 19 Jul 1917 d Oct 1943 ss# issued in Colorado. Sarah Major married Edwin Metcalf in Jefferson county, Iowa. They lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado. A story persists that Edwin lied about his age and joined the 3rd Colorado Cavalry and was a messenger, mostly in Kansas. I have been unable to find a roster for this troop to verify this. I would like to order his military record if there is one. Thanks for any help finding this roster.

Am hoping to find out some info on my boyfriend's great grandfather. We have the gun Henry Theodore Holvig supposedly carried up San Juan Hill. His cavalry uniform, saddle and gun were found in his attic..the material and leather dry rotted. Only the gun is left.

Holvig was born in Iowa, raised in South Dakota and lived as an adult and owned a Mercantile in Jasper, Minnesota, he died in May of 1960.

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!
