Wondering if anyone has more information about the following account I found when researching my ancestor, Lewis Howard Duvall.
From The Oregon Historical Society Biography card file: "311 - Duvall, Lewis H. --Indian War Pension papers"
"The following information contained in the IWPP's:
Lewis Duvall b. Greenville, Muhlenberg Co., KY on the 4th of Dec 1824,he enlisted in Company B, under Captain B. Burch, was honorably discharged in Jun 1856 at Salem, Ore. Height --5'9'', dark eyes, black hair, dark complexion, occupation --farmer, resided in Polk Co.. Married Clarenda H. Kibbey on 6 Sep 1854. Living in Independence, Ore.*note--letter attached stated that T.W. Kibbey of Dallas, Ore and Mrs.Sarah Andrews of Fairdale, Ore were two more people who were in need of their veteran pensions."
Specifically has anyone heard of a Captain B. Burch or possibly Birch...and does anyone know more about the length of Lewis Duvall's service and what it entailed?
