The ancestor I am researching enlisted 3 Mar 1869 in Santa Fe, NM under Lt. Hobbs. (Would this have been some type of recruitment place or at some fort that is unlisted?) Under the heading of Regiment and Company, it states the following that I don't quite understand: 37Inf 3Inf then it says 37 C and 3 H.A. --- I believe that this indicates he was with the 37th Infantry Co C-- and while with the 3rd, he was listed as H.A. What does this mean? The additional information states: Discharged Mar 5, 1872 Expiration of Services at Fort Wallace, Kansas Pot. What does Pot mean?
