A GGG Uncle of mine was in the 4th regiment french brigade, he was born in the bearn region of France . Jackson barracks in New Orleans will have some information on your ancestor ( I think you can find them on the internet) I also bought microfilm from heritagequest.com ( 4th brigade service records) Well happy hunting.
