Here is the gravesite of Zachariah C. NEAHR (9 Dec 1830 - 21 Jul 1903) in the Canajoharie Falls Cemetery in Canajoharie, Montgomery Co., NY.

Z. C., as he liked to be called, lived his entire life in Canajoharie. He was awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor in 1890 for action at Ft. Fisher, NC, on 16 Jan 1865 when he was a Private in Company K, 142nd NY Infantry during the Civil War.

Z. C. was the son of Zachariah NEAHR, Jr., and Elizabeth [--?--]. After Z. C.'s father died, his mother married Henry KRING of Palatine Bridge, NY, on 18 Feb 1845. In 1852 Z. C.'s full sister, Elizabeth NEAHR, went on to marry her stepbrother, Orville H. KRING.
