Seeking the location of Zachariah C. NEAHR's medal of honor, which he received in New York City on Sept. 11, 1890, for deeds of valor at Fort Fisher, NC, on Jan. 16, 1865. He was a private in Company K, 142nd New York Infantry.

Medal may be in possession of descendants of Zachariah. Known descendant surnames are NEAHR, MITCHELL, MARTIN, HATTER, VAN ALLEN, KORN, KLOCK, and KRING. Family originates from Canajoharie and Town of Palatine, Montgomery Co., NY.
