Patrick, Thank you for your reply. I am trying to locate militia records for my ancestor Coatsworth Pinkney Black, and Garvin Black who resided in Jackson Co, GA sometime between 1812-1819. Jackson Co was as the edge of the organized counties at that time. I will check as you suggested in neighboring SC. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Question do you know if whites ever got married during this period in official "Cherokee or Creek" nations? Thanks
