Does anyone have information on the GA Volunteer militia that included men from Burke, Jefferson, and other surrounding counties in the southeast during the year 1814, especially March to Sept. Captain R. L. Gamble and Commander Major Robert Bowling lead this group.

My 3rd great grandfather Samuel Walden is listed as a private with this unit from the GA Militia Rosters under the War of 1812.

Were they stationed at a Georgia Fort? Where? What activities if any were happening in 1814. Was this just a support/home front protection unit?

Any info appreciated.
