Pension Ease

Re: Pension Ease
Thank you for the information. I was actually referring to the military service record, not the pension file. This particular soldier served in the Creek Wars. Under the remarks on his record, after listing dates, etc., there is "See pension ease". This appears on many records I have seen. The soldier received bounty land, but not a pension, as I have had a search done by the National Archives.
I found his service record on Ancestry, under US Army Registrations. If you have ancestry, you can view some of the files to see what I am referring to.
It is just my luck that I cannot prove that this soldier is actually my ancestor, although I suspect that he is. No pension file, missing census records for the time period, etc. The bounty land he received was in Arkansas, and I can find the record of where he filed for it, but he doesn't appear on any census record for Arkansas after that time. I think he may have sold the land and actually moved to north Alabama. Do you have any pointers? I emailed the White Co AR contact but he never got back to me.
