One of my ancestors lived in Adair Co, KY at the time of the War of 1812. I've seen that he served under Andrew Jackson. From what I've briefly read online it doesn't look like Andrew Jackson lead any KY troops. Does anyone know whether he did or how likely it would be for a person from KY to travel to another state to join troops in the other state instead? Also, I would appreciate if anyone knows what documents there are that would know what company a KY man would be in under Andrew Jackson. Thanks!
