Was there compensation made / paid to the families of unmarried soldiers killed in the War of 1812?? Bounty Land, maybe?? Any information appreciated.

was killed while heroically facing the British veterans on the south bank of the Saranac that fateful Sunday. The mortal remains of this man were brought back to Elizabethtown and buried in the old cemetery."
*** Isaac Toms: b: June 26, 1795 in Vermont. Family moved to Essex Co., NY ca 1805 - he d. Sept 11, 1814 (age 19 y/o) - at Battle of Plattsburg and bur Old Post Cem, Elizabethtown, Essex, NY.
