Looking for information on James Dunn, who was a Private in Van Auker's Company, New York Militia, War of 1812. I have a copy of a Military Land Warrant dated 1872 naming his widow, Isabella Dunn, and assigning the 160 acres in Dakota Territory to their son, Gibson Dunn.

I'm thinking about ordering records from NARA, but, I'm not really sure what records I should request. Since there is a Military Land Warrant, does that mean there would be a Pension File?

Would appreciate ANY information on James Dunn or Isabella Gibson Dunn. Also, any information on Van Auker's Company, New York Militia, would be GREATLY appreciated.

v/r,
Sharon
