Captain J. T. Chunn enlisted Isom Qualls (aka Quarles)into the 19 Regiment USA Army on 31 Jan 1813. In Aug 1813, he is present for duty in New York. In Nov 1813 he is present for duty at North Buffalo, New York. Line 36 tell us to see Isham Qualls of the 25th Regiment where we get additional information (line 38). This man is 6'3" born in South Carolina enlisted in Indiana Territory.
Records are incomplete between Jan and Nov 1813. But the 17th and 19th Regiments were stationed in Ohio and Indiana . With Perry's victory, the defeat of the Indians and British at the Battle on the Thames River and the retaking of Detroit, portions of the 17th and 19th were moved to Buffalo and Sackett's Harbor. More on his assignments 200 years ago later in the year.
