I am researching my grandfather Joseph Charles Ernest Moore. On searching on Ancestry I have found a Joseph C E Moore with a record in the Medal Rolls Index Card 1914 - 1920 section. On looking at the original image it doesn't give any information eg dob to identify him as my grandfather.

Does anyone know how I can do that?

Also I have checked the National Archives Site which has the same card details but charge £3.50 to obtain the image file.

Does anyone know if I would get more details by paying the National Archives £3.50 than what is available on the Ancestry Image file in particular would I get details such as date of birth?

According to relatives JCE Moore was in the cavalry in the 1st World War so I obviously need details to confirm if this is the same person.
