my ancestor john mcfadden who joined or was enlisted in the west surrey regiment of the british army on 23 nov 1915, aged 28 ,apparantly died on a ship coming home from ? this is according to anccdotal information supplied by my father,who remembers a photograph of him hanging above the fireplace in his childhood home.However i cannot find him on the list of war dead,or on the war graves website,can anyone assist please
