My father kept a running journal of his training and movements for the years 1942 to 1946.

Oct. 12 1942 Entered Army at 1229 R.C. Fort Dix N.J.
Oct. 15 Left Fort Dix by troop train
Oct. 17 Arrive Augusta Ga. assigned to Co B 59th med Bn, Camp Gordon - Basic Training
Feb. 1 1943 Promoted to PFC
Feb. 11 Promoted to Corporal - left for O.C.S. 7 day delay enroute
Feb. 18 Reproted to 3rd Platoon Co. P. 3rd Engineer l Regiment Fort Belvior, Va. class 29
May 12 Graduated O.C.S. & Commissioned 2nd Lt.
May 15 Reported to Heavy Equipment & Construction School class 10, Richmond Army Air Base Va.
May 29 Graduated Equipment School 7 day delay enroute to assignment
June 6 Reported to 1894th Engineer Army Bn. MacDill field, Tampa, Fla. ( 3rd Air Force)
