Hello all,
My dad was regular army in WW II, 273 Infantry, 69th Division. His name was John David Foley, but may also have gone by the last name of his stepfather Moody. He was born in Montreal, Canada (or Tennessee) in 1926. He lived in the Bronx, NY at the time of his enlistment.
He enlisted at Camp Upton, NY in 1944. He separated from Fort Dix in 1946. He served in the Ardennes (Battle of Bulge), Central Europe, & the Rhineland. History does not list his division as serving in the Battle of the Bulge, but once the troops there were decimated, various troops from various divisions were pulled - his being one. He is the 6th man in from the left in the bottom row of the attached photo. My dad is long dead (1973), but his service left a strong mark on him. Does anyone remember him, or know someone who might? It would mean the world to his three daughters.
Thank you,
Janet Moody
