Wilburn M. Blazer was born March 3, 1915 in Hillsboro, Jefferson County, MO. Parents were Oran Leslie Blazer and Josephine (Wilson) Blazer. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on Oct 18, 1943 and started active duty at Camp Gruber, OK on Nov 8, 1043. He was assigned to Company C, 351st Infantry Regiment, 88th Infantry Division. He was wounded on October 28, 1944 in the Italy Campaign and was awarded the Purple Heart.
