Long Range Desert Group & 1 SAS Service Records

I have been informed by veterans that my Dad was involved in the long range desert group (LRDG) and then joined 1 SAS whilst in North Africa. They have told me about missions he spoke about, one ex REME engineer mentioned his first mission was a parachute drop that went horribly wrong because of the weather. I am trying to find out where to start my research to gain confirmation of his involvement.

Are there any resources which would list the names of men that served in the LRDG and 1 SAS?

His service record just shows 5/Seaforth Highlanders - Middle East 1942 - 1943. Then he went down to a Greek island called Leros 16.11.1943 where he was captured and sent to Stalag VIIa.
