Hi, First, is he from the US? Also, you might want to post your relatives full name, state he was from at the time of WWII, and his year of birth. That might help someone find him for you.
Also, have you tried looking him up on this site this US NARA site?

If you find him on the site above, you could try contacting the State Archives and the County Clerk where he enlisted...or where he located after getting out of the service. They may have some information.
And this would be a long shot if he was from the US. Many records burned but might be worth a try. Complete the Standard Form 180 within this site.

If you know whether he had a military burial or was collecting VA benefits, you can try the Sexton of the Cemetery and the funeral home that handled his burial if he died. And the regional VA office where he was collecting VA benefits if it applies.
