My great-uncle was in WW2. his discharge papers say he served in company b 818 enginner bn avn but i can't find any information about this group. it says in battles and campaigns that he was in normandy, northern france, ardennes, rhineland and central europe. he received the eame theater ribbon w/5 bronze stars and the good conduct medal. his job is listed as construction worker.
my grandmother said he built bridges and was in the battle of the bulge. does anyone know what group he might have been attached with? he was in europe for over 3 years. any help or clue would be welcome. thanks.
