I have 3 V-Mail letters that my grandfather wrote my grandmother and he briefly touched on the philisophical side of war but the thing that was mentioned over and over was about how he longed to be home with her and their children and how much he missed them.
My baby brother is currently serving on the USS John F. Kennedy which recently took over duty from the Roosevelt in the Arabian Sea launching air strikes on Afghanistan.
Sometimes his wife will forward me an email she has received from him, and some of them sound almost word for word like the ones my grandfather wrote all those years ago.
I guess war is something that makes people realize what is most important no matter the war or the generation.
