My ancestors came from Wuppertal Germany
Walter and Marta Beckmann
They lived in germany during ww2.
They had two sons Walter who was killed during ww2 in France and Gunther Heinz Erich Beckmann born 16/5/1920.
Gunther left Germany just before the ww2 from Hamburg on board ship Altona as a Kitchen hand and arrived in Sydney Australia 1939.
I have an address from back then dated 4/4/1940 posted through the International Red Cross.
44a Saarbruckerstr Wuppertal-Ba Deutschland.
I haven't been able to find any information on them only what I have received from the National Archives of Australia.
