COLUMBUS -- Katherine E. Harold, 89, passed away Monday (June 20, 2011) at The Beckett House in New Concord, Ohio.(Muskingum County, Ohio)

Born Oct. 4, 1921, in Lenox Dale, Massachussetts.

Served as a Navy Nurse in World War II. Retired as director of nursing at Alum Crest Nursing Home.

Preceded in death by husband, Richard L. Harold; sisters, Alyce, Rosalie and Vera; brother, James; and son-in-law, John J. Kramer.

Survived by daughters, Karen Kramer, Candace (Stephen) Schmitt and Constance Ann (John) Sprouse; grandchildren, Richard (Pamela) and Johnathan Chubb, Theodore (Andrea), Stephanie and Jeffrey Schmitt, Katherine J. Sprouse; great-grandchildren, Lynnze and Nathan Moon and Ayden Chubb; sister, Madeline Farrington; brother, Joseph Farrington; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from Friday 6 to 8 p.m. today (Friday) at the Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 S. High St., on the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery.
