FOWLER – Mrs. Jean Yungbluth, 91, passed away peacefully at 9:55 a.m. on Friday Sept. 14, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Warren, Ohio. (Trumbull County)
She was born in Ben Avon, Pa., the daughter of Charles and Emma (Martin) Marshall, on June 10, 1921.
A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Jean went on to attend the St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a registered nurse and worked as nurse anesthetist at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio for eight years and Pine Ridge Indian Hospital in South Dakota for 10 years.
She was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a nurse during World War II.
She enjoyed writing, reading, poetry, music, playing the organ and was a caregiver to her family.
Jean was an active member of the Fowler United Methodist Church and belonged to several organizations, including the Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, Grange, the Starlight Card Club, and her bowling team.
She married Karl F. Yungbluth on Jan. 2, 1949, with whom she spent 27 wonderful years before his passing in 1976.
Jean will be sadly missed by her three sons, David (Sharon) Yungbluth of Metamora Michigan, Fred (Judy) Yungbluth of Fowler and Richard (Ellen) Yungbluth of Niles, Ohio and her daughter, Karen (John) Ragan of Fort Collins, Colorado.
She is also survived by her many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Karl F. Yungbluth, her son, Zane Yungbluth; her three sisters, Emily Shuster, Marguerite Jenkins and Marion Marshall; her brother, Martin Marshall; and her great-granddaughter, Nicole Yungbluth.
Friends may call today, Sept. 17, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel at 6923 Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield, OH 44403.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the Fowler United Methodist Church at the corner of Route 193 and Route 305 Fowler, with Pastor Daniel Wilson officiating.
Friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be at the Crown Hill Memorial Cemetery in Vienna, Ohio.
