I am the author of NO TIME FOR FEAR, VOICES OF AMERICAN MILITARY NURSES IN WORLD WAR II, published by Michigan State University Press. It contains oral histories of some of the nurses who served overseas, including Lois Watson McKenzie. I contacted her just before she died, but did not get to interview her. Her husband sent me a copy of her story that she had written, which you may have seen from her family.
Also on the plane was Agnes Jensen Mangerich. After I interviewed Agnes, she wrote a version of the experience which which was published after my book came out. ALBANIAN ESCAPE is the title, published by The University Press of Kentucky. You may be able to contact Agnes through that Press, if she is still able. I have an address, but haven't been in contact with her for a few years.
The story of that unbelievable trip has been mentioned in many books.
I would be happy to hear from you.
