Margarita GUARNIERI Cappuzello
Margarita Cappuzzello, daughter of Catherine and Angelo Guarnieri, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Assumption Nursing Home at the age of 85.
Margarita was a graduate of Girard High School, class of 1940. She graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1943 and served in the Army as a Second Lieutenant during WWII, and later as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Youngstown State University in 1970 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education, and taught for 14 years at St. Rose Elementary School.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing Alumni, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, St. Rose and Girard Senior Citizens and St. Rose Parish.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Angelo Cappuzzello. She leaves behind three sons, Paul Cappuzzello (Shari), Joseph Cappuzzello (Ruth) and George Cappuzzello; and three daughters, Georgeann Colella (Albert), Mary Brown (David) and Anne Ransone (Timothy); 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Helen Colonna; and her brothers, Joseph Guarnieri, Alfred Guarnieri and Angelo Guarnieri.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Schiavone Funeral Home.
Girard, Ohio
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Rose Church.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
