There is very little public information for WW 2 vets. You will have to send away for his records from the National Archives-

If you don't have them you can also request a one time replacement of any medals he may have been awarded-

You can also check with the cemetery where he was buried to see if they have a copy of his DD 214-military discharge. That will give you additional information.
