Hi,

I am trying to track a US soldier that was stationed in Australia (most likely Brisbane or Queensland for a time) during the later stages of WWII.
I know his last name and possible first name, but the records on the US National Archives site aren't exactly forthcoming with info. He may have married an Aussie girl and had a child but I don't know their details.
I know this is a complete long shot, but I've been asked to find this info by a family member. I feel like I've hit a brick wall and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
