Your best bet is to find the Bomb Group or other outfit he was with..then hope they kept some sort of history...
you can find most of the larger Bomb Groups on the Web,,,e.g., 9th BG, 6th BG, the 8th AF, etc,,,,
few if any pictures were taken by the AAF. Best bet again is that the graduation picture form a training etc has survived.
Also, remember there was no "Air Force"
in WWII...it was the Army Air Force, and even the Aircragt Commanders of the B-29 's were in the "Army"
I have quite a lot of experience finding people on the web,,,I am one of 3 historians of the 9th Bomb Group that flew B-29s off Tinian...if you want to send me name, Group or any other info you may have, I would be glad to se what I could find...BTW, middle initials are golden ...
