What Might She have Been Doing?

According to my sister, our mom Eleanor Steliga (who was a WAAC during WWII) was in the intelligence division, but doing data entry of some kind. She said that they never told them more than they had to know, so even SHE didn't know how she fit into the big picture. She suspected that her machine was a precursor of the computer. She remembered when the Japanese code was broken, she could hear the celebration shouts in another part of the building in DC.
