      <description>Betty's personal contribution to the history of the WASP included not only her service, but her book: "Out of the Blue and Into History" which will forever be an important historical resource on the WASP&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;TURNER . Betty S. (nee Stagg), died Friday, December 12, 2003. Age 81. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Betty served proudly as a Women Air Force Service Pilot in WWII and wrote and published two books and lectured proudly of her experiences. She was awarded the Veteran of the Year Award for 2003 by the Dayton VA Medical Center. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Turner Sr., mother of Ann Louise (Allen) Tetreault, Patricia Ann (Mark) Fleming, William A. (Anne) Turner Jr., Richard D. Turner, Robin (Trina) Turner, Susan T. (Tim) VanGorden and Judith M.
