BROOKFIELD, OH – Iris N. Ryan, 94, passed on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 22, 2011, at 3:45 p.m. at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on May 3, 1917, the daughter of William Quay Christie and Elsie (Ora) Campbell Christie.
She was a graduate of Warren, Ohio City Schools and in 1936 was a beautician at Leuma’s Beauty Salon.
Iris married the love of her life Charles “Burt” Ryan on April 14, 1938 and with him would share more than 63 of marriage.
Mrs. Ryan served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Washington, D.C.
Iris and Burt were longtime active members of the Tod Avenue United Methodist Church. Iris also belonged to Eastern Star Morning Light No. 80
She will be deeply and lovingly missed by her nieces and nephews, Cheryl Guerrero and her husband, John of Howland,Ohio, Gordon Christie and his wife, Josi of Warren, Ohio, Robert “Bob” Christie of West Farmington, OH and Ruth Christie of North Las Vegas.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Burt on Dec. 29, 1998; and two brothers and her sisters-in-law, Gordon (Wina) Christie and William (Genevieve) Christie.
Funeral services will begin at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the Madasz Funeral Chapel at 6923 Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield.
Friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
Burial will take place with her husband at Crown Hill Burial Park.
