Due to a software problem, I am posting this a second time.
Maybe you can check the censuses. Andreas should be in the 1900 census, which has a Soundex index. Have you sought an obituary for him?
Michigan birth, marriage and death records back to 1867 are at :
Vital Records, 3423 N Martin Luther King Blvd, POB 30195, Lansing MI 48909.
